La BiB (La Biblioteca Infantil Bilingüe) is a library founded in early 2023 to serve the greater Puerto Vallarta community. We offer a welcoming and inclusive space where families can access a growing collection of books in English, Spanish, and bilingual editions, thoughtfully curated for babies, toddlers, early readers and adolescents.
Our mission is to enrich children’s access to literature, nurture a lifelong love for reading, strengthen early literacy skills, and promote bilingualism in a region where language and culture are deeply interconnected. We believe that reading is a fundamental tool for empowerment, and by fostering literacy in this diverse and vibrant community, we hope to help open doors to greater opportunity, imagination, and understanding for the next generation.
La BiB envisions a future where every child in the Banderas Bay Area has access to the books, resources, and encouragement they need to become confident, curious, and capable readers. Join us in our mission to grow into a network of libraries, working together to ensure that every child can experience the joy, freedom, and lifelong benefits of reading.
The Journey of La BiB
La BiB opened in 2023 as a grassroots initiative to expand access to children’s books. In January 2025, it became the La BiB Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and opened in a new public location in October 2025.
Free Book Borrowing
La BiB offers free book lending without limitations! Building on a trust system, we let families borrow as many books for as long as they need.
Raising a Bilingual Generation
Supporting bilingualism means investing in the future of every child in our region. La BiB creates an inclusive, accessible space where all families can learn, read, and grow together.
Enrichment Programs & Partnerships
We offer language classes, storytimes, music and art classes, and family events — partnering with community organizations to promote bilingualism and literacy.
A Community of Helpers
La BiB is powered by volunteers passionate about children’s literacy and bilingual education — mothers, retirees, and community members who share their time, talents and expertise to help run the library.
